Mrs. Lula Mae Kellogg passed away late Friday morning, February 24, 2012, at her Farmington Presbyterian Manor residence at the age of 99 years, 9 months & 1 day. Lula was born on May 23, 1912, in Squires, Missouri, and was the daughter of Charles Monroe & Stella Adeline 'Kennedy' Spurlock.

Lula attended Kolb Elementary and graduated from Ava High School in 1932. She attended Missouri State Univ. in Springfield. She taught rural elementary schools for 8 years. She was a member of Auxiliary of the Gideons International. She served on the Douglas County Extension Council & was also a member of WPFA.

On April 5, 1940, Lula & Martin Kellogg were united in marriage in Ava, MO., and to this union 4 children were born. They resided in Seymour & Springfield before moving to their farm south of Ava in 1945. Lula joined Black Oak General Baptist after her salvation and baptism in 1952, and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing hymns. After retirement, they moved into Ava. In 2006, she moved to Farmington. Lula loved her family and looked forward to their gatherings.

Lula was preceded-in-death by: her parents; her husband, Martin; 2 brothers - John & Fred Spurlock; 5 sisters - Velma Davis; Mary Turner; Elsie Russell; Maude Robertson & Ethel Warden.

Survivors include: 4 children & their spouses - Wayne & Sue Kellogg, of Springdale, AR; Evelyn & Gary Moore, of Soldier, IA; Harold & Geri Kellogg, of Dallas, TX; Anita & Jim Lyon, of Farmington, MO. 8 grandchildren - Christina Brown; Marti Sturdevant; Kirk Kellogg; Susan Franz; Mark Kellogg; Kim Van Vacter; Derek Kellogg & Greg Kellogg. 10 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Charles "Chuck" Spurlock, of Ava, MO & 1 sister, Lela Nash, of Lake Winnebago, MO. a sister-in-law, Dorothy Spurlock, of Squires, MO & a host of other relatives & friends.

Visitation : Monday, 1:00 p.m., Feb. 27th @ Clinkingbeard Funeral Home - 407 NE 5th St. Ava, MO. 65608 (417) 683.4115

Funeral : Monday, 2:00 p.m., @ Clinkingbeard Chapel, with Pastor Oren Alcorn officiating.

Interment : Ava Cemetery.
