Lucille Mae (Halley) Duckett, 91, of Bonne Terre passed away October 11, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington. She was born January 19, 1925 in Primrose, MO to the late John Franklin Halley and Myrtle (Pettus) Halley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van L. Duckett in 1983; brother, Allen F. Halley; sisters, Nina Saffell and Dorothy Rodgers; brothers-in-law, Donald House and William Saffell.
Lucille is survived by her children, David Duckett and wife Elaine of Millbrook, AL, Terry Duckett and wife Marie of Farmington, Melissa McKelvey of Farmington; sister, Ruby House of Bonne Terre; brother, Alvin Halley and wife Glenda of Bellevue, NE; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Halley of Bonne Terre and Diane (Rudy) Fuchs of Williamsville, MO; brother-in-law, John Rodgers of Ashbrook Manor in Farmington; grandchildren, Jeffrey (June) Duckett of St. James, MO, Russell (Mary Ann) Duckett and Robert (Cindy) Duckett of Prattville, AL, Terry Linn (Sarah) Duckett of Desloge, Todd (Kaitli) Duckett of Park Hills, Justin Barton (Bailey) of Tuscola, IL, Katie McKelvey of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Junior, Allyson, Johnna, Sammie, Abigail, Ella, Emilea, Miguel, Braeden and Kalynn; one great-great-grandson, Bryson. Several special nieces and nephews and very special friends, Glenda Miller and Vickie Jones also survive.
Lucille was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre for over 60 years. She loved working in the nursery and teaching Sunday School. Everyone who knew her, knew she loved collecting and buying old dolls and restoring them back to life. She also collected tea pots. She was an avid gardener of flowers of all kinds. Before she was married and became a homemaker, she was trained to work as a “Rosie the Riveter” in St. Louis, MO. Lucille loved life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume on Friday at 8:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. Service will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ron Poole officiating.
