Louie Hinkle Jr.

Louie John Hinkle Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on April 12, 1939, in Bonne Terre, Louie brought joy, love, and laughter to all those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Ellen (Maples) Hinkle; and one brother, Robert Hinkle.

But Louie’s true joy was found within the walls of his home. He was a devoted husband to Nancy Hinkle for 28 years; and a caring father to his children: Sheldon Hinkle, Robin Sebastian and husband Scott, Brad Gibbons and wife Peggy; loving grandpa to Ray (Melanie) Hinkle, Becky (Jeremiah) Reissing, Alicia (Trevor) Cain, Amy Gibbons (Corey Felty); great-grandpa to Lucas, Guinevere, Payton, Harper and Sadie; brother to Patricia (Joe) Holloway, Joyce (Bill) Mayberry, Donald (Rita) Hinkle; sister-in-law, Joyce Hinkle along with several nieces, nephews, special friends and other family members. Louie cherished every moment spent with his family, creating lasting memories and fostering strong bonds that will endure for generations to come.

Louie retired from Cape Electric, Flat River Branch, as their sales representative. His kindness and warmth extended beyond his immediate family. He was a valued member of various organizations, including the Esther Baptist Church in Park Hills, the Scottish Rite Shriners, and the Order of Eastern Star. Louie’s dedication was evident in his 58-year tenure as the past master of Elvins Ionic Lodge #154, where he left an indelible mark on the community he cherished.

In his leisure time, Louie found solace in the great outdoors. He enjoyed camping trips at Wappapello, fishing, and cheering on local school sports teams. His unwavering support for his community exemplified his selfless and caring nature.
