Linda Jean Carlyon

Linda Jean Carlyon passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on February 17, 1947, in Frankclay, Missouri. Linda was a cherished daughter of Rosalie Vaul. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Mable and Herb Cox, who instilled in her a deep sense of faith, family, and kindness.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Rosalie Vaul; her grandparents, Mable and Herb Cox; and her brother, Jerry Vaul.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph Carlyon, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 60 years. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect, raising three children: Lisa (married to Allen Young), Tami (married to Larry Shannon), and Scott (married to Tanya Carlyon). Linda was also a proud grandmother to Michael (special friend Caitlin), Jeremy, Dustin (married to Crystal), Coty (married to Chelsea), Danielle (married to Danny), Blake, Abby, Kelsi, Alexis, and Nathan; her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Quinn, Caleb, Hailey, Vanessa, Tanner, Hayden, Callie, Octavia, Oriana, Carter, Thatcher, Hazel, Grayson, Cora, Aerith, Elliott, and Waylon. Along with her fur baby, Dylan.

Her family remembers her for her unwavering love and her warmth that filled every family gathering, especially the cherished Sunday dinners she looked forward to each week. Her kindness and joy for life were constant reminders of the love of Jesus, which she shared freely with everyone around her.

Known for her sweet and spirited personality, Linda had a few favorite comforts that brought her joy—she never turned down a Diet Coke or a handful of black licorice, and she enjoyed watching classic TV shows, especially Hazel. Her family will fondly remember these little indulgences that added to her charm and warmth.

Her life was a beautiful example of devotion to faith and family, and her memory will forever inspire those who knew her. She loved deeply and shined the light of Jesus in every relationship she formed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at C.Z. Boyer & Son – Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Mineral Point.
