Lester “Corkey” Mayberry, 85, of Park Hills, passed away April 12, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 16, 1935, in St. Louis, to the late Lester L. and Della Alzona (Hayes) Mayberry. Corkey was a carpenter by trade and loved to travel. He was also known as “The Piano Man” and entertained many with his self-taught music.
He was preceded in death, by the love of his life for 63 years, Geraldine (Obenhaus) Mayberry; brothers, Gayle and Eldon Mayberry.
Corkey is survived by three daughters, Tina Mayberry, June (Dave) Calvert, and Rhonda (Eugene) Horn; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Webb, Jamie (Curt) Gilliam, Ben Calvert, Britany Horn and Ronnie Horn; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly (Rick) Bolin.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM. Chaplain Mark McMullin will be officiating. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington.
