Mr. Lester A. Chamberlain, Sr., passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at his Doe Run residence at the age of 87 years, 3 months & 19 days. Les was born June 15, 1920, in Knob Lick, MO., and was the son of Henry and Mary 'Hurst' Chamberlain. Also preceding in death were 3 Brothers: Harold; Firman & Milton Chamberlain; 1 Granddaughter & 2 Great-Grandchildren.
Les was a US ARMY Veteran of World War II. Les was a retired Miner from Pilot Knob Pellet Co. & attended Emmanuel Baptist Church of Doe Run.
Survivors Include: his wife, Wanda Pauline (O'Farrell) Chamberlain, of Doe Run. 5 Children: George (& Melanie) Runyon, of Ste. Genevieve; Michael Dean (& Donna) Runyon, of Lebanon, MO; Goldie Kay (Mrs Jim) Malarkey, of Fayetteville, NC; Juanita Chamberlain, of Doe Run & Lester A. "Zeke" Chamberlain, of Doe Run. 2 Brothers: Jesse (& Helen) Chamberlain, of Doe Run; Walter "Bill" (& Alice) Chamberlain, of Arizona; 2 Sisters: Dorothy Kapeller, of St. Louis, MO. & Elma (Mrs. Edward) Gierczuk, of Florissant, MO. Also, 12 Grandchildren & several Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, 5-8 p.m., Visitation resumes Monday at 7:00 a.m.
Funeral : Monday, 1:00 p.m., Oct. 8, 2007,
at: TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Brian Jackson and Rev. Jay Lacey officiating.
Interment with full military honors at: Doe Run Memorial Cemetery
