Leroy
Spradling, 67 of Desloge, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. He was born June 14, 1945
in Bonne Terre. Leroy served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was a member of Desloge Chamber of Commerce and acted as Treasurer for
over 25 years, active in Labor Day Picnic Committee and Desloge Board of
Alderman, past member of Bonne Terre Rotary Club, North County School Board,
Backstoppers Board, Desloge Police Board, St. Francois County IDA, Mineral Area
Elks 2583, VFW Lifetime Member Post 2426, Potosi Auxillary Police Officer also
volunteered for Campground Host for State of Missouri, and was a member of
Cantwell Baptist Church. He also
volunteered for several Fire Departments, Desloge ?? Safety Officer, Flat River ??
Captain, Sullivan ?? Captain, and Potosi ?? Assistant Chief. Leroy began his banking career in 1978 until
retirement from First State Community Bank in 2007. Leroy was preceded in death by
parents, Charles "Fat" and Thelma (Waggoner) Spradling, father and mother
in-law, Norman and Sophia (Zarowski) Bayless; stillborn son, William Leroy
Spradling Jr.; brother in-law, Frank Eaves; and dearest friend, Steve Kelly. Leroy is survived by wife, Pat
(Bayless) Spradling; children, Chris (Stacy) Spradling and Amy (Eric) Horton;
grandchildren, Chandler Austin Spradling, Carter Alexander Spradling, Sophia
Elizabeth Horton, and Kendall Dean Horton; siblings, Betty Eaves,
Charles Bud (Ruth Ann) Spradling, Donnie (Sue) Spradling, and Cathy Badger;
dearest friend, Mary Lou Kelly and family; Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at C.Z.
Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 4:00 PM to
8:30 PM with an Ozark Firefighters Memorial Service at 8:30 PM. A Celebration
of Life will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Desloge, at 11:00 AM Thursday,
May 9, 2013, with Chief David Pratte officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois
Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
