Leroy Esmond Sigman, 73 of Park Hills, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born August 27, 1939 in Flat River, to the late Marvin and Edith Sigman (Keel). Leroy retired from the Daily Journal in 2005 after having spent more than 50 years of his life as a reporter. About 39 of those years he spent working in one capacity or another for the Daily Journal. He was on a first name basis with most law enforcement officials and firefighters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gene Sigman and sister Irma Adams.Leroy is survived by sister Patricia Broadfoot of Sullivan; two nephews Tom Broadfoot (Dixie) and Robin Adams (Joy); and his very special niece Beth Ann Wessler (Tony).The family will accept friends at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a Memorial Service following immediately at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Darryl Rhodes officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bismarck with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Park Hills Public Library directed through Park Hills City Hall.
