Mr. Leo A. Hanger passed away, May 29, 2007, at The St. Francois Manor Nursing Home, at the age of 84 years, 11 months & 11 days. Leo was born June 18, 1923, in Exchange, MO., to David & Edna 'Vinson' Hanger. Also preceding were: 1 Brother, Burnell Hanger & a Special Nephew, Gary Hanger.
Leo was a US ARMY Veteran of World War II & was awarded A Purple Heart & 3 Bronze Stars while serving in Northern Solomons Luzon & The New Guinea Campaigns. Leo was a member of Farmington First Baptist Church & the Ellington Rotary Club. Leo was awarded a "Paul Harris" Fellowship by Rotary International. Leo volunteered at the Farmington Ministerial Alliance Thrift Store.
Survivors include, his wife, Mary Lou 'Gallaher' Hanger, of Farmington; 4 Daughters: Kathy 'Mrs. Gary' Henderson, of Cassville, MO; Deena 'Mrs. Darrell' Thompson, of DeSoto, MO; Sherry 'Mrs. Jack' Hale, of Poplar Bluff, MO & Lynne 'Mrs. Dennis' Schmoele, of Ste. Genevieve, MO. 1 Son, John (& Shana) Hanger, of Farmington. 3 Sisters-In-Law, Nita Hanger, of Ellington, MO; Geneve Moyer, of Ironton, MO., & Ruth 'Mrs Ron' McCurdy, of Houston, TX. 10 Grandchildren: Chuck & Sara Henderson; Rebecca (& Gary) Merseal; Rachel Stroder; Steven & Eric O'Briant; Jeff Hale; Brandon Schmoele and Dylan & Brandt Sarratt. 1 Great-Grandson, Caden Scott Merseal. Also numerous other relatives & friends.
Visitation : Thursday, 5-8 p.m., Visitation resumes Friday @ 7:00 a.m.
Funeral : Friday - 10:00 a.m., June 1st
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Dr. William C. Miller officiating.
Interment with full military honors at : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington.
Memorials to: * Farmington First Baptist Church - Library Fund &/or * Farmington First Baptist Church.
