Larry W. Datillo

Larry W. Datillo, 76, of Elvins, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his home. Larry was born Sunday, December 29, 1940 in Festus. He was a good man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Larry was extremely loving and proud of his children and grandchildren.

               He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine “Gus” Datillo; mother, Ella Mae (Patterson) Massingham and husband George; son, Jeff Datillo; grandson, Thomas Wilkinson V; and sister, June Pashia.

               Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth (Clark) Datillo; children, Thomas Wilkinson IV, Dawn Lee (Steve), Angie Datillo (Mike Barron), Misty Moreno (Alvaro), Candy Datillo (Tim Diebold), Larry D. Datillo, John Datillo (Tina), Tony Datillo (Lisa); fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Datillo; and best friends, Jay Johnson (Peggy). The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Deanna, Frank, Stacy, and Shirley at Preferred Hospice.

               Larry’s family will host a Celebration of Life, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at their home in Park Hills from 12:00 until 3:00 pm. There will be a private inurnment at Jefferson Barracks with full military honors at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers the family strongly encourages supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in loving memory of Larry.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills.
