Larry Melvin Black, 72, passed away June 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1944 in Bonne Terre. He was a member of the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church of Park Hills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Casey and Wilma Irene (Ransom) Black; daughter, Nina Cain; brother, Donald Black; six sisters, Shirley Tinker, Barbara Rulo, June Cauley, Phyllis Dorsey, Eilene House and Janet Skaggs; nephew, Richard Rulo.

Larry is survived by his wife, Gladys (Hasty) Black; three sons, Daniel Cantrell and wife Brenda, Thomas Cantrell and Matthew Cantrell; six daughters, Barbara Marler and husband Robert, Rosemary Horst and husband Loren, June Sansoucie, Nancy Stegall and husband Wayne, Alice Stegall and husband Layne, Jo Stegall and husband Dudley; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Black and wife Donna; three sisters, Melba Martin and husband Billy, Darla Walker, Jeannie Blair and husband Dale. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with grandson, Rev. Jerry Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery.
