William Kimbal Strangmeier, 83, of Park Hills, passed away August 29, 2016 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington. He was born in Goose Creek, Texas, February 12, 1933, to the late William F.C. and Willie Mae (Bussey) Strangmeier. Kimbal graduated from the University of Texas with a Masters in Physics, and became an instructor at Mineral Area College for 30 years. He was instrumental in testing the original Dr. Brown baby bottle, and worked with the Atomic Energy Commission at Los Alamos testing grounds in the 50’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Strangmeier.
Kimbal is survived by his wife Anne (Raines) Strangmeier of Park Hills; one daughter, Kimberly (Mrs. Jerre) Cole of Kansas; two grandchildren, Claire and Jackson Cole; brother, Dr. James Strangmeier and wife Nelda; sister in-law, Helen Strangmeier all of Texas; brother in-law, Sam Raines and wife Frances of Oklahoma, and Bruce Nash of South Carolina.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Swatosh officiating. Interment will be in the Patton Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Relay For Life of St. Francois County, in care of Team Turner Chevrolet.
