Katheryn Rearden

Katheryn Rearden, 86, of Desloge, passed away April 15, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 30, 1927 in Leadwood, to the late Claude and Eunice (Gillam) Williamson. Katheryn served her country as a MASH Nurse in Korea during the Korean War. She was also a nurse at Farmington Community Hospital and later retired from the Farmington State Hospital. Katheryn was a life time member of Desloge VFW as well as Immaculate Conception Church.She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard A. Rearden; sisters, Mary Fatchett, Gladys Wood, and Alberta Bay; and infant brother, Clifford F. Williamson. Katheryn is survived by her loving husband James H. Rearden, whom she married May 10, 1952; children, James C. Rearden and wife Ina, Timothy P. Rearden, M.D. and fianc Chi Kim, M.D., William D. (Laurie) Rearden, PhD, Mary Gail Reardon, and Karen E. (Mrs. Terry) Denton; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Glore; and several nieces, nephews and friends.Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service starting at 4:00 PM.The service will be held in the Chapel, Friday, April 18, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Mark S. Ebert officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, in St. Louis, with full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to BJC Hospice or Susan G. Komen Foundation.
