Kathy Spier, passed away peacefully April 8, 2018 with her family by her side. A great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born July 3, 1949, in Bonne Terre, daughter of the late Marcus and Lela McCarron. Married for over 30 years, she and Jim shared a life that dreams were made of. Early years of marriage found them travelling for Jim’s work until Kathy put down roots in Kokomo as a small business owner.
All whom loved her dearly will never forget her laughter, undying love, unyielding kindness and her professional karaoke skills (White Lightning).
She had a sense of humor that was simply contagious. Kathy was world-renowned for her ability to out fish the rest of her family and a year never went by without someone getting a crocheted blanket, tablecloth, or dishcloth. There is no doubt, she holds the world’s record for the most number of purses owned.
She leaves behind her family that she was very proud of. She will be sorely missed and survived by her Husband Jim; two daughters Sarah Waters and Tina (Daniel) Roberts; her sister Marsha (Ronnie) Storie, brother Bob (Judy) Koch, Aunt RuthAnn (Chuck) Benoist. There are also six grandchildren; Tyler (Alexis), Kaitli, Savannah, Blake, David, Lela and three great grandchildren and a lot of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, also by her son Michael "Mickey" Bone. The latter of which came to carry her on to her new address. Her husband Jim said “Thirty years with her seemed like just thirty minutes. Just not enough time.”
A memorial visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Reverend Mike Barton will be officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation. View tribute and share your memories and condolences at www.czboyer.com.
