Judith "Judy" Helena Perry, age 79, of Farmington, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Home in Farmington. She was born on Friday, May 18, 1945, in Ironton to the late Ervin and Addie (Thurman) Queen.
Judy devoted over 28 years of her life as the head cook at Presbyterian Manor, bringing joy to many through her culinary creations. Her love for cooking, crafting, and caring for others not only defined her character but also brought her immense happiness. Judy's commitment to service extended beyond her profession, where she was a former member of the Auxiliary VFW, Am Vets and the American Legion, embodying her dedication to supporting others and giving back to her community. Above all, Judy's world revolved around her beloved family, for whom she was the unwavering center of love and support.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Henry Perry; brothers, Harvey, August, Billy and Bobby Queen; sisters, Alma Matthews, Wilma Pogue and Coeta Schottel.
Judy is survived by her children, Henry “Hank” Perry III (Sharon), Addie Wampler and husband Brian, Jody Perry and wife Kim, Buffie Reever and husband Steve, Alma Black and husband Kevin; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brother, Jackie Queen and wife Virginia; sister, Linda (Queen) Schmoll; special friend, Tammy Perry along with several nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington from 12:00 PM until service time of 4:00 PM with Chaplain Robb Elders officiating. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery in Doe Run. The family would like to thank Preferred Hospice and Southbrook Skilled Nursing Home staff for their care and compassion given to Judy. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association team “Love Never Forgets”.
