Judy Halter

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Maureen Halter, who left this world on September 9, 2024. Born at home October 29, 1941, in Missouri, Judy, 82, was a cherished member of the community where she dedicated her life to caring for others. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her work in childcare as she lovingly tended to her horses, finding solace in their company, trail riding and the art of dressage. Throughout her life, Judy's kind and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge and generously volunteered her time as a leader in the 4H Club, where she shared her passions with the younger generation for 12 years. She also tended to the childcare at Esther Baptist Church as well as U.S. Tool.

 She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Golman “Dale” Halter and mother, Lessie (Gregory) Crump and husband Burl. As we mourn the loss of Judy, she will forever be remembered for her unwavering love and care for those around her. Judy was a loving mother to David Halter and wife Cindy and Melody Sue Halter; adoring grandmother to Jacob (Cullen Marshall) Halter, Austin Miner and Kirsten (Van Gunter) Stevens; sister to Sharon Shunk and husband Darrell and loving friend to Leroy Bradley. Judy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. 

 Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. Reverend David Wright will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in honor of Judy’s memory.
