Joyce Penberthy

Joyce Faye Penberthy, age 74, of Bonne Terre, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Wednesday, January 1, 1950, in Bonne Terre to the late Arthur Thomas and Hattie Myrtle (Ramo) Miller. Joyce was of Southern Baptist Faith.

Joyce grew up in Potosi and worked at Red Wing Boot Manufacturing. She married Michael “Mick” Penberthy on June 10, 1973, and shortly after, making their home in Leadwood. Joyce enjoyed making crafts, cooking for her family and giving care to anyone in need. She loved her family dearly and supported them in any way she could.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael “Mick” Penberthy; siblings, Ula (Leo) Boyer, John (Elna) Miller, Dorothy Miller, Betty (Floyd) Warden, Anna Lee (Lester) Wall, Ruby (Paul) Coleman and Paul Robert (Margaret) Miller.

Joyce is survived by her son, Darrell Penberthy; daughter, Tammy Penberthy; five grandchildren, Caroline, Mickayla, Abbi, Jackson and Lydia; five great-grandchildren; Zaelyn, Delaney, Rhett, Amelia and Blakely; brother, Lynn (Marcella) Miller; sister-in-law, Jan Miller along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM until service time of 6:00 PM at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.  Reverend Mike Coleman to officiate. Burial will be private at Leadwood Cemetery.
