Johnnie Bethel Black Hance was born on October 12, 1943 to proud first parents Sgt. John Eugene Black and Anita Mixon Black. She passed away peacefully Sunday, August 6, 2017, with her husband, Eugene Edward Hance, and children at her bedside in St. Louis Missouri. 
 
Johnnie Beth grew up on the Gulf Coast and retained deep roots in Southern Mississippi. She was a proud graduate of the Springhill Hospital Diploma nursing program in Mobile, Alabama. For decades, Johnnie Beth served as a registered nurse in the Operating and Emergency Rooms at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Her gifts ranged from “awesome” cooking and catering to playing piano by ear to inspiring others to become nurses. Her generous nature touched people wherever she lived. She truly was an angel on earth shown by her devotion to God and her continuous charity to others. 
 
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but most keenly by her surviving family. Her spouse of 49 years, Eugene Hance. Children: Norman (T Jae) Hance of Riverton WY; Regina (Marty) Seaton of Farmington, MO; Becky (Chad) Whitney of Newark OH; and Rachel Hance of Park Hills MO. Grandchildren: Brie'Anne (Greg) Story, Hunter and Preston Hance, Caine, Jahni, and Cohen Whitney, Zachary Seaton, Nola Hance, Tara, Heather and Matthew Wood. 
Great grandchildren: Khloe Story, Ava and Leah Eubanks. Siblings: Bill Black, Patsy Puckett, and Denise Savell. Numerous other beloved family and friends. 
 
Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Mark Ebert officiating.inurnment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Park Hills.

 A second Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Church in Benndale, Mississippi.  

 
Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills.
