John L. Redmond

John Louis Redmond, 70, of Farmington passed away April 27, 2018 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington. He was born January 31, 1948 in Farmington. John proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Pendleton United Baptist Church of Doe Run and a life member of VFW Post 5896 of Farmington. In his spare time, John enjoyed working on cars and doing yardwork.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Sybil (Simmons) Redmond; brother, Jim Redmond; brother-in-law, Mike Whelehon.

John is survived by his wife, Connie (Weiss) Redmond; five siblings, Louise Smith and husband Ed, Lois Whelehon, Shirley Hair and husband Eddie, Nancy Spray and husband Butch, Charles “Mickey” Redmond and wife Cathy; sister-in-law, Becky Redmond. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Service will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son – Taylor Chapel with Rev. Doug Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pendleton United Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
