John Cleveland

          John Cleveland, 77, of Festus, passed away peacefully, September 2020 at his home.  He was born September 23, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan, to the late Morris and Audrey (Woolford) Cleveland.  John served his country in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion #253 Honor Guard. John was a teacher and coach for 30 plus years, at Dunklin R-5 in Herculaneum.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Morris “MR” Cleveland, Jr, Glee Ritter and Rhea Lundmark.

          John is survived by his son, Adam Cleveland and two sisters, Judith Hurlbert and Joy Salgado.

          There will be a graveside service, Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Doe Run Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.  A Celebration of Life for John Cleveland, will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021, beginning at noon, at the American Legion Post #253 in Festus.  His former students, athletes, colleagues and friends are all welcome to attend.
