Joe Stocker

Joe Stocker, age 76, of Bonne Terre, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, April 26, 2013. During his sixteen years of surviving cancer, he was blessed with many miracles. He was born August 23, 1936, in St. Louis and later served his country in the United States Air Force. Joe retired from Manufacturers Railway in October, 1996 and was owner of Our House, Inc. a local building and remodeling company.Joe was a member of The First Church of God in Leadwood. He took joy in watching his grandkids in their activities. Supported West County Schools on the PTC for years, enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball and making crafts, which he loved to sell at shows. He loved God, his family and Southern Gospel music.He was preceded in death by parents, Emil John and Marie Elizabeth (Stamp) Stocker; brothers, Donald and Emil Stocker; sisters, Ruth Deadmond, Ida Campbell, and Evelyn Laxton.Joe is survived, by the best Christmas present he had ever received when he married his wife of 53 years on December 24, 1959, Judy (Shoemake) Stocker. In addition to his wife he is survived by: Children, Joseph "Jay" Stocker, Jr., Jeffrey Stocker and wife Gina, Juli Ann (Mrs. Jeff) Mallory; five grandchildren, Derik and Justin Stocker, Molly Mallory, Tiffany and Joseph (Jake) Stocker III. Many nieces, nephews, friends and special family friend, Sondra Emerson.He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.The family will accept friends at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The service will follow immediately at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kendall Hughes officiating. There will be full Military Honors. Memorials can be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital or The New Life Evangelistic Center.
