Jo Ann Owen passed away late Wednesday night, February 29, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, at the age of 80 years and 22 days. Jo Ann was born on February 7, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Leo Owen and Nannie Dorothy 'Cadle' Owen.
Jo Ann received a Bachelor's Degree from Missouri State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She started in 1967 as Physical Education Instructor at Mineral Area College, and taught until 1995. She continued coaching until 1998. She coached Volleyball, Men's & Women's Tennis at MAC for 30 years. She was a longtime, faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington; sang in the choir, led bible study classes and went on many mission trips. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Republic, Missouri.
Survivors include a Special Friend - Sarah I. Cassidy, of Farmington; numerous Cousins & Friends.
Visitation : Saturday, 5-8 p.m. Visitation resumes, Sunday, 6:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Funeral : Sunday, 3:00 p.m., March 4, 2012
at : Memorial United Methodist Church, Farmington, with Rev. Robert Bullock officiating, assisted by Dr. Rick Broadway
