Jewel "Bub" Childers

            Jewel “Bub” Childers, 83 of Farmington, passed away June 23, 2018, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington surrounded by his family. He was born on August 11, 1934 in Lawrence County, Arkansas to the late Memera C. and Lula Mae (Brown) Childers. Bub was a member of the Esther United Methodist Church, St. Francois Masonic Lodge #234 AF & AM of Libertyville and the National Street Rod Association. He loved delivering Meals on Wheels in Park Hills, restoring old cars, camping and his family.

            Bub was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold William and Lonnie Ray Childers.

            Bub is survived by his loving wife, Beverly S. (Long) Childers; children, Laura Lea Laramore and husband Lindell, Gregory Allen Childers, Jennifer Lynn Childers; three grandchildren, Kayla and Makenzie Wiles and Cameron Childers; three bonus grandchildren, Christopher Laramore, Laura Alley and Stacy Laramore; seven great-grandchildren; brother, James H. Childers Sr. and many nieces, nephews and friends.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Services will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Pastor Pati Robertson officiating. Burial to follow at Libertyville Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the local Alzheimer’s Association Farmington Walk or Esther United Methodist Church.
