Jerry Frank Thurston

Jerry Thurston, age 73, of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved in logging accident on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on Tuesday, July 10, 1951, in Grassy, Missouri to the late Frank and Betty Imogene (Dorsey) Thurston.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Randy and Harold Thurston.

 Jerry is survived by his cherished and loving wife of 52 years, Glenda (Hunt) Thurston; beloved daughter, Aseneth and husband Nick Dispenziere; grandchildren, Breanna Dispenziere, Chelsey Champion and husband Aaron Champion, Drake Dispenziere; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Dakota, Hannah, Hutson, Izzy and Maveryk; siblings, Lindell Thurston and wife Shelia, Darell Thurston and wife Debbie, Joyce Stroder and husband Glenn, Donna Thurston along with several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church of DeLassus in Farmington. Jerry was an extremely hard-working man and had been from a young age always helping his dad with his sawmill company. He enjoyed logging, turning wrenches, and teaching his grandson Drake the lay of the land. When Jerry was not working, he enjoyed going hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were some of the loves of his life. 

 Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home-Taylor Chapel from 9:00 am until service time of 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Pogue and Pastor Bill Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials if desired can be made in Jerry’s memory to First Baptist Church of DeLassus.
