Jerry Ray Reed

Jerry Reed, 66, of Desloge, passed away September 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 13, 1948 in Ironton, to the late Luther Thomas and Ressie (Crocker) Reed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge and Teamsters Union Local #618. Jerry enjoyed cars shows, westerns, but most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry always showed great passion for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Nicole Reed; grandson, Justin Reed; four sisters, Alma Reichert, Nina McCloud, June Lotz, and Bonnie Reed. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rita (Pryor) Reed; children, Michelle "Shelly" (Brad) Williford of Desloge, Tammy Lockwood of Oakville, Jerry Reed and wife Breyanne of Desloge; six grandchildren, Brittany (Adam) Froidl, Stevie Huitt, Brandi Parker, Addie Reed, Nolan Reed, and Megan Reed; great-granddaughter, McKinley Froidl; brother, Sam Reed and wife Gloria of Pilot Knob; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the Chapel, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
