Jerry Edwin Heberer, 80, of Desoto, was called to his eternal resting place on Saturday, September 21, 2024. He entered this world on Sunday, April 2, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, Jerry attended Primrose Baptist Church in Bonne Terre.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John Heberer and Edna (Hawkins) Heberer; his loving wife Manda (Nichol) Heberer he married December 22, 1980.; five siblings, Louis Heberer and wife Jutta, Mary Ann Miller and husband Bob, Paul Heberer, Louise Sommers and husband Larry; special nieces, Lisa and Linda that he had a close relationship.
Jerry found joy and fulfillment in his work, dedicating 44 years of his life to Western Plastics as a Machinist. His commitment was unwavering, and he found pride in being elected as the past union president of local 179 (United Textile Workers AFLCIO) and later holding office with Midwest council for 1-year USWF, 60+ years member of UTI (United Commercial Travelers) and 60 years as a member of Venede Sportsmen Club. Jerry's dedication and passion for his work set an example for those around him, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of his professional life, Jerry was a compassionate and selfless individual, always putting the needs of others before his own. He deeply cared for those around him and found solace in the companionship of his beloved fur babies, Useless and Jack, who brought him immeasurable joy and comfort.
Jerry leaves behind many nieces and nephews; David Miller and wife Mari Jo, Nancy Barrett and husband Joe, Mary Surmann and husband Niel, Vicki Marrs and husband Kevin, Laura Hicks, John Heberer and wife Christine, Elizabeth Heberer and Paula Heberer; sister-in-law, Romana Heberer; cousins, Donna and Lauren Beck; along with many other family and friends that were dear to his heart.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 11:00 A.M. until service time of 12:00 P.M. with Randy Murphy officiating. Inurnment will follow at Primrose Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials can be made in Jerry’s memory to Stray Rescue 2320 Pine St. St. Louis, Mo. 63103.
As we mourn the loss of Jerry Edwin Heberer, let us also remember the joy, laughter, and love that he brought into this world. May his spirit live on in our hearts, guiding us with his eternal light and wisdom. Rest in peace, Jerry, knowing that your legacy will never be forgotten.
