Jane Bess

 Jane Bess, 86, of Doe Run passed away Friday, July 5, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Jane was born on Thursday, August 12, 1937, in Doe Run, Missouri, to the late John and Ella (Ashby) Weiss. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Dale C. Bess; siblings, John Weiss, Katherine Wachter, Mary Lea Key, Peggy Wade, Sally Barnhouse, and son-in-law Kenny Moran.

 Jane was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doe Run. In addition, she was a spokesperson for Alzheimer’s. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. 

 She is survived by her loving children, Larry Bess (Londa), Christine White (Mouse), Linda Moran, Janice Vandiver (Ken), Kelly Ketcherside; grandchildren, John Huitt, Brooke McDaniel (Joe), Dianna Dunlap (Will), Ashley Sabourin, Valerie Wilcoxsen (Bobby), Johanna Hillier, Katherine Murphy (Lucas), Amelia Moran, Sarah Thebeau (Randy), Jessica Zobrisky (Craig), Ben Vandiver, Josh Ketcherside (Lauren), Tim Ketcherside (Christina), Hannah Haywood (Kyle); best friend since the first grade, Naomi Rhodes Russell, along with many nieces, nephews, other friends and family.

 There will be a graveside service that will be held at the Weiss Cemetery in Doe Run on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The family will host a Celebration of Life at the St. Francois County Country Club, 4901 Hillsboro Road, Farmington, MO 63640, on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Serenity Hospice.
