James "Jim" Albert Hahn

Jim Hahn, 75 of Desloge passed away August 5, 2023, at Mercy South St. Louis. He was born August 17, 1947, in Bonne Terre, to the late Leland and Mary “Jerry” {Sitton} Hahn. Jim was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills. Jim’s biggest passion was hunting, and fishing with his family and best buddies.

Jim retired as H.R. manager from Flat River Glass. He was recognized as the distinguished business leader of the year 1994.  Jim was honorably discharged from the Navy serving during the Vietnam war 1968-70.  He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W, member of the American Legion and was the Legion baseball coach.

Jim joined M.A.C Elks Lodge #2583 in 1978.  He held all office chairs of the lodge and became Exalted ruler in 1982 and State President in 1991. He was named Elk of the Year for Missouri Elks in 2019/20.  National offices held: District Deputy, Special Deputy and Grand Esquire.  Jim served as chairman of the Grand Lodge and Support for the Elks National Convention in St. Louis. He served his community as baseball coach, umpire, Boy Scouts, 25-year fireman, City Alderman and was a member of the Board of Directors of Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health.

Jim is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Regina {LaBruyere} Hahn; one daughter, Kristy {Patrick} Hinkle and one grandson Justin Brownlee; nieces and nephews, Robert {Debbie} Hawk, Gerald {Jeanne} West, Kelly Monroe, Melanie {Bo} Hutchings and Jamie Monroe; several great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the Elks service at 1:30 PM.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Park Hills.  Deacon Mike Burch will be officiating.  Memorials may be directed to Elks National Foundation or Wounded Warrior.
