James E. Wade, 96, of Park Hills, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Parkland Hospital in Farmington. Mr. Wade worked at St. Joe Lead as a machinist for 43 years, where he was active in the Steel Workers Union. A lifelong member and supporter of the Flat River Christian Church, Jim held many positions, including deacon, elder, trustee, and chairman of the board. Civic minded, he was an avid supporter and donor to the Flat River Public Library, Missouri Mines Historic Site and his alma mater, Mineral Area College. He was a volunteer fireman in Flat River for 20 years and served as captain for part of that time. He was a successful deer hunter; enjoyed many hunting trips with friends; and was a long time member of the 67 Gun Club. Jims pastimes included vegetable and flower gardening and making wooden blanket chests for family and friends.He was preceded in death by parents, Earl R. and Ida (Chamberlain) Wade; his beloved wife of 75 years, Priscilla (Brewen) Wade; brothers Rolla, Robert, and Dell Wade; and sisters, Ruth Wadlow, Naomi Lescher, and Mary Judlin. James is survived by children, Kathleen M. (David) Reeves, James F. (Shihfang) Wade, William E. Wade, and Patty L. Wade; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; sisters in-law, BethWade and Aline Brewen; and many generations of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will resume Wednesday at 10:00 AM. The service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM, April 24, 2013, with Rev. Rodger Kiepe and Pastor Bill White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Flat River Christian Church, 15 N. Coffman St., Park Hills, MO 63601. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
