James Bowen

James W. Bowen, 70, of Boonville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 13, 2014. James William Bowen was born in Elvins, MO, Oct. 2, 1943, the son of Charles Bowen and Bobby Hammers Bowen. He served in the U. S. Navy. Jim moved to Boonville from St. Louis in 1979 with Intertherm (Nordyne). After his retirement from Nordyne he worked for the Department of Corrections for several years until his retirement from there. Jim was very talented in anything regarding restoring old cars which was evident with the trophies and certificates that he had earned. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, or anything to do with the outdoors. Mr. Bowen is survived by his fiancee, Earlene Scroggins of the home, his daughter, Shelly and husband Darrell Vollmer of Boonville and son Andy Bowen and his wife, Julie of Boonesboro, MO; his grandchildren, Cody Spencer (fiancee, Sadie) of Boonville, Mersadie Root and husband, Kevin of Boonville, Gauge Perkins and Shane Crawford of Boonesboro and great-grandchildren, Karlie Root, Mylah Spencer and Mikah Kelly.There will be a visitation for Mr. Bowen at Davis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday evening, Apr. 15th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a service at 7:30. Rev. Mel Eaton will be officiating. A second visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, April 16th from 12:00 PM to service time at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Workman Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials suggested to the family.
