James Adams

James Adams, 100, of Desloge, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 16, 1924, in Redford, to the late Walter Ray and Sarah Ann (Warner) Adams. James was a 61-year member of the Park Hills Church of Nazarene. His interests included gardening, fishing, family and church. 

James has compiled an impressive list of achievements that include being a veteran of the Korean War, and an employee of the Chevrolet plant in St. Louis, Pea Ridge Mines in Sullivan, and the Flat River Glass Company. He has also enjoyed recognition by being a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sarah Adams; brother, Charles Ray Adams; daughter, Mona Louise Adams; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Burkhalter and oldest grandson, Keith Aaron Adams. 

James is survived by his loving wife of 73 Years, Louise Marie (Bebout) Adams; children, Larry Adams and wife June, Donna Burkhalter and husband Rev. Pat; Cyndi Hudson and husband Paul; three grandchildren, Morgan Hudson, Grant Hudson, Jonathan Burkhalter and wife Rachel; two great-grandchildren, Kade (Mason) Adams and Kailey (Jase) Odle; one great-great-granddaughter, Blakelynn Rvyer Odle; many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.

Visitation will be held at Park Hills Church of Nazarene, Monday, September 9, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the service time of 12:00 PM. Reverend Alan Harp will be officiating. Interment will follow at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Park Hills Church of Nazarene or Serenity Hospice in Park Hills.
