Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Meador, age 87, of Farmington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Maplebrook Assisted Living in Farmington. She was born in Bonne Terre on Wednesday, June 24, 1936 to the late John B. and Glenda (Cooper) Brand, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Lee Meador DVM; sons, Sam, and Jimmy Meador; daughter, Sandy Meador; sisters, Rose Evans, and Susan Richardson.
Jackie worked as a veterinary assistant alongside her late husband, DVM James Meador until their retirement. Jackie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington, where she worked with the Seed Sowers, in the nursey and helped with the gym. She loved playing golf, was a talented artist and enjoyed traveling. Most importantly she loved her family and grandchildren.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Melinda (Allen) Hunt and Melissa (Larry) Thurman;; brother, John B. (the late Norma) Brand, Jr.; five grandchildren, Renee Swanson, Matthew Edgar, Casey (Sarah) Thurman, Morgan (Robbie) Gidney, and Mitchell (Dr. Katie Payne) Thurman; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:30 PM until the time of services at 2:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Inurnment will follow at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
