Jacob Brien (J.B.) Stevens, 71 of Irondale, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 25, 1942 in Hot Springs, AR. He served his country in The United States Navy and was a member of Local 392 - Iron Workers of East St. Louis.He is preceded in death by parents, Earl and Dulcie (Pirtle) Stevens, and two brothers, Robert Stevens and Jack Richard Stevens.J.B. is survived by his wife of fifty years, Rita. He is also survived by two sons, Rocky (Sheri) Stevens, and Stacy (Melissa) Stevens both of Terre Du Lac; five grandchildren, Kristin (Mrs. Cameron) Williams, Jordan Stevens, Cameron Stevens, Claire Stevens, and Carly Stevens; four sisters, Mary Stevens, Ruth Stevens, Patsy (Mrs. Barry) Shelton all of Valparaiso, IN, and Jane (Mrs. Rick) Fritschle of Flora, IL; six brothers, Joe Stevens of Lake Station, IN, Earl Stevens of Terre Du Lac, Buck (Tomi) Stevens of Hobart, IN, Michael (Bonnie) Stevens, David (Christen) Stevens, both of Farmington, and Ronald (Melanie) Stevens of Demotte, IN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.J.B. enjoyed many things such as fishing, visiting with friends, and going to ballgames. He was a great fan of watching kids play sports, expecially if it involved his grandchildren or West County teams. He was a great husband, father, and friend but he was the best "Pop" in the world.Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel with Rev. Ed Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Leadwood Cemetery.
