Jack Taylor

Jack Nations Taylor, 86, of Desloge, Missouri, passed away on February 8, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 4, 1938, in Caruthersville, Missouri, Jack lived a life full of purpose, passion, and devotion to his loved ones and his community.

A proud alumnus who earned a master’s degree, Jack dedicated over three decades of his life to education as a revered teacher and coach at Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District. His commitment to nurturing young minds extended beyond the classroom, as he passionately coached football, wrestling, and girls’ track, inspiring countless students to strive for excellence both in sports and academics. Throughout his illustrious career, Jack was deeply respected as an educator who believed in the potential of every student he encountered. In addition to his significant contributions to education, Jack was a devoted member of Elvin's Ionic Masons and Eastern Star for 50 years. He took great pride in his community involvement and the relationships he built through this fraternal organization. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, cherishing his time spent watching games and celebrating victories with family and friends. However, his greatest joy stemmed from his family.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Laster and Hazel Josephine (Nations) Taylor; two brothers, Joseph Taylor and Jeffrey Taylor.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Taylor of 33 years, and his cherished children; Felecia (Eric) Douglas, Stephen (Brandi) Taylor, Tammy Moran, Daniel O’Neal and Richard O’Neal. He was also a proud grandpa who relished every moment spent with his nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Jack's legacy of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
