Irvin L. "Smitty" Smith, 91of Ozark, formerly of Desloge, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013. He was born Wednesday, October 5, 1921 in Flat River. Smitty served his country during WWII in the Air Force. He was a member of Cantwell Baptist Chruch where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He owned and orperated Smitty Garage in Park Hills for 36 years; before retiring he started Smitty Metal Detectors and Coins which he ran for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin Wesley and Martha Ellen (Snyder) Smith; two brothers Mayford and Glen Smith; one sister Hester Smith.Smitty is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marianna (Williams) Smith; children Joyce (Mrs. Steve) David of Farmington, Jeff Smith and wife Linda of Ozark, and Shelia (Mrs. Bill) Monks of Desloge; grandchildren Stephanie, Laura, Bob, Shaina, Travis, and Whitney; great-grandchildren Keira and Audrey June.Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, May 3, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, with a service following at 2:00 PM Rev. Dennis Walker offiating. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial can be directed to Cantwell Baptist Church or the Baptist Home in Ozark, MO.
