Iris V. Brown

Iris Vail Brown, 88, of Terre Du Lac passed away December 4, 2016 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. She was born September 2, 1928 in St. Louis to the late Carroll and Bernice (Johnson) Vail.

She grew up attending Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in St. Louis. She was an alumnus of Riverview Gardens High School and Missouri Valley College where she attained her bachelor’s degree in 1949.  After marrying the boy she met on the first day at college she taught 5th grade until her children took over her time.   Iris was a very active member of the Terre Du Lac Country Club where she enjoyed meeting her friends to golf and play bridge. She was an avid stock market investor, traveler, and reader as well as sorority member of Beta Sigma Phi.  She contributed to many committees and groups most often as Treasurer.

Iris is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd Robert Brown, Sr.; four children, James V. Brown of St. Louis, Lloyd R. Brown, Jr. and wife Mina of Chesterfield, Trish Brown and husband Don Ciaglo of Granite Bay, CA, Jeanne Schober of Kirkwood; eight grandchildren, April (Jeff) Woolard, Jim (Sukyung) Brown, Kathy (Ben) Imgarten, Joseph Brown, T.J. Ciaglo, Shelly Ciaglo, Tory Schober, Darcy Schober; six great-grandchildren, Maddison, Cameryn, Samuel, Alexander, Kaylyn and Ethan; two sisters, Diana Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO and Carole Frohardt and husband Jim of Loudon, TN; two nieces, Rachel and Carrie; three nephews, James, Shenandoh and Spica.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of memorial service at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Dave Dealy officiating. Memorials may be made to the Terre Du Lac Country Club. View obituary and share condolences online at www.www.czboyer.com
