Homer Rouggly

            Homer Rouggly, 94, of Bonne Terre, passed away, August 3, 2017 at Parkland South in Farmington. He was born October 2, 1922 in French Village, to the late Alvin Lee and Augusta Dorothea (Fink) Rouggly. Homer served his country in the United States Army during WWII, and was later employed with Emerson Electric. He was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bonne Terre, past commander of VFW post #6883, and the owner/operator of Rouggly Shell Station that was in Bonne Terre. 

            He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Rouggly; four siblings, Gertrude Rouggly, Lorene Rouggly, Girard Durwood Rouggly, and Alvin Jules Rouggly. 

            Homer is survived by five children, Ron Rouggly and wife Nancy, Steven Rouggly and wife Lucina, James Rouggly, Sr. and wife Susan, Kathy (Mrs. Brian) Brewen, and Jayne (Mrs. Jamie) Bess; 9 grandchildren, Bill Harrel, Jennifer (Darrell) Biri, Jim (Stephanie) Rouggly, Alex (Melanie) Rouggly, Melanie Rouggly, Colleen (Dr. Andrew) Nickless, Amanda (Travis) Brooks, Bradley Bess, and Whitney Bess; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Charles Henrickson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bonne Terre.
