Mr. Harold Glenwood La Plante passed away April 4, 2002, at Parkland Health Center, South, in Farmington, at the age of 86 years, 5 months & 19 days. Harold was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Mine la Motte, MO., to James Bunt La Plante & Nellie 'Bess' La Plante. Also preceding were: 1 brother, Denver S. La Plante & 1 great-granddaughter, Elizabeth F. Platten, in-infancy. Harold was: * a member of the Park Hills Christian Church; * US ARMY Veteran of World War II & served honorably for 3 years in the 189th Batallion; * Lifetime member, Norman L. Rigdon VFW Post #5896 of Farmington; * retired from Union Electric Co., after 31 years service; * loved by all who knew him for his kindness & generosity. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife of 49 years & 9 months - Peggie Arlene 'Limbaugh' La Plante, of Farmington; 1 SON: James T. La Plante, of Festus; 3 DAUGHTERS: Linda 'Mrs. Don' La Plante Gregory, of Aiken, SC; Cindy 'Mrs. Randy' La Plante Johnson, of Farmington; Lisa 'Mrs. Curtis' La Plante Randall, Farmington. 3 SISTERS: Dorothy 'Mrs. Bob' Cunningham, of Desloge; Doris Jean House, of Park Hills & Allene White of Park Hills. 2 BROTHERS: Gene (& Shirley) La Plante, of Park Hills; James "Murrill" (& Sherrye) La Plante, of Park Hills; 6 GRANDCHILDREN; 7 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; Numerous Nieces; Nephews & beloved friends. Visitation begins Saturday, April 6th, 5:00 p.m.; ELKS memorial services will be Saturday, 7 p.m. Visitation resumes Sunday, 7:00 a.m., & funeral Sunday, 2:00 p.m., at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, Farmington, with Rev. James Barker officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Leadington, Missouri. Memorials to: * American Cancer Society &/or * Farmington ELKS Lodge Scholarship Fund.
