Golda Mary Young

Golda Mary Young, 87, of Park Hills passed away February 1, 2014 at St. Joe Manor. She was born February 11, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Minnie M. (Morris) Womack. Also preceded in death by infant daughter Phyllis; husbands Lee Darnell and Louis Young; sisters, Mapel Reed, Macy Byers, Jewell Hutchings; and brothers, Edward Womack, Lawrence Womack, Lester Womack, and Vernon Womack.Golda was a member of the Parkview Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to garden, knit, playing cards and board games.Golda cherished every minute that she spent with her grandchildren.She is survived by four daughters, Judi (Mrs. Rich) Kester of Arkansas, Lisa (Mrs. John) Barry of St. Louis, Jackie (Mrs. Al) Gill of Glendale, Arizona, Shirley (Mrs. David) Thorne of Farmington; three sons, Dan (Donna) Young of Bonne Terre, David (Lana) Darnell of Desloge and Dennis (Vernetta) Young of Farmington; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.Visitation will beTuesday February 4, 2014 from 10 amto 12 pm with the funeral service immediately following at 12 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge with Rev. Dwight Jones officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
