Gloria L. Mason, 83 of Park Hills, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. She was born July 25, 1928 in Columbus, Montana. Gloria met the love of her life in Colorado Springs and later traveled back to Colorado to wed Norman Mason on May 29, 1952. When they first moved to the area, she was involved with U.M.Y.F., and also taught Sunday School at the Bismarck Methodist Church. Gloria was a Bismarck 4-H Leader, Bismarck Booster Club member and a proud member of Gamma Tau Mu which was organized in 1971 for camping and square dancing. When they moved to Park Hills, they became active members of Park Hills United Methodist Church on Taylor Ave., as well as a member of Parkland Hospital Ladies Auxillary. She was also employed for 35 years at the Missouri Employment Security office.She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Sarah (Pim) Halls; sisters Audree Whishmeyer and Norma Niday.Gloria is survived by husband, Norman C. Mason of Park Hills; daughter, Mary Margaret Mason of Desloge; son, Scott Mason of Park Hills; sister, Betty (Mrs. Jack) Shriver. She was a loving Mam Maw to granddaughter, Carla Bailey Crocker; great grandchildren, Nash Mason Davis and Hattie Lee Crocker.Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at Park Hills United Methodist Church from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM with service immediately following at 11:00 AM and Rev. Eddie Bone officiating. Interment will be held at St. Francois Memorial Park following the service. Memorials can be made to Alzhiemers Research or St. Francois County Relay For Life.
