Glenda Lee Byington, age 91, of Bonne Terre, passed away Saturday April 3, 2021, at Camelot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Glenda was born to the late Dan and Lela (Pratte) Pettus in Bonne Terre, Missouri on February 10, 1930.
Glenda was a dedicated member of Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church and the Naomi Ruth Circle. She was an avid gardener, quilter, and an excellent cook. Glenda’s greatest joys in life stemmed around her children, grandchildren and her family and her service to god and her church.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Kenneth Byington; son, Gregory Dale Byington; grandson, Dustin Gaugel; son in law; Dennis Gaugel; siblings; Bearl, Bouke, Thelma, Virgil, Faye, Fern, and Farrell.
Glenda is survived by her loving children, Debbie Gaugel, Duane (Vicki) Byington; five grandchildren, Deun (Holly) Gaugel, Daniel (Colleen) Gaugel, Steve (Jodie) Mabery, Todd (Evelyn) Mabery, Brian (Jennifer) Mabery; twelve great-grandchildren; Emma, Isaac, Dreyden, Isaiah, Seth, Dylan, Joshua, Ali, Jackson, Abby Sydney, and Ava; brother Dallam (Grace) Pettus; sister, Virgie Morris; sisters-in-law, Helen Pettus, Bernice Pettus, Nancy Pettus and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 10 A.M. until time of service at 1 P.M. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Beth Allen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church.
