Glen Roney

         Glen Roney, 80, of Leadwood, passed away August 4, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born October 5, 1939, in Leadwood, to the late Wade and Eunice (Young) Roney.  Glen was a member of the Hopewell Church of God, but had been a member of the Eastside Church of God, for 43 years.  He loved being with family, watching the grandchildren play baseball, basketball, football and track,  races at the local race tracks, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Glen loved singing southern gospel music with his family and through his singing, many souls came to know God.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Ann Roney; and two sisters, Beverly Brewer and Lois Keown.

            Glen is survived by his; children, Julie (George) Gilliland, Laura (Tony) Momot, and Billy (Angie) Roney; five grandchildren, Jed (Lynsie) Momot, Chance Gilliland, Colten (Tara) Gilliland, Hunter and Hayden Roney; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Ridge, Viviene, Scarlett, and Everly and one sister, Linda Lawson.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 12:00 PM until time of the service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Sheldon Marler and Pastor Ryan Retzer officiating.  Interment will follow at Leadwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Kidney or Heart Association. Mask or facial coverings will be required before entering the funeral home.  Please practice all social distance guidelines.
