Gladys Barton

Gladys Marie Barton, 93, of Bonne Terre passed away March 20, 2012 at Country Meadows. She was born on December 6, 1918 to the late James and Maggie Rawe. Also preceding in death is her husband, George P. Barton; son, George Leroy Barton; brothers, Raymond Rawe, Roy Coleman, James Rawe; sister, Genevieve Cain.Gladys was a charter member of the Pond Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Gladys is survived by son, Larry P. Barton and wife Janet; daughter, Peggy Peppers and husband Dale; grandchildren, Deanna McCord and husband Greg, Greg Peppers, Lochie Counts and husband Josh, Matthew (Beth) Barton; great-grandchildren, Ana-Marie Springer, Jordan Peppers, Maddie Barton, Sydney Horton, Josie Barton, Brett Horton, Sophia Barton, Lilly Adams, and Bailey Barton; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family is grateful to the dedicated staff and administration of Country Meadows Nursing Home and Preferred Hospice for their love and devotion to Gladys.Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5 until 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be 10 am Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with Rev. Patrice Rosner and Rev. Greg McCord officiating. Interment will follow at the Bismarck Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Preferred Hospice.
