Gertrude M. Sikes

Gertrude Mae Huff Sikes, 95 of Bonne Terre passed away December 5, 2012 at St. Joe Manor. She was born June 27, 1917 at Gumbo, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Bertha Mae (Coleman) Huff; sister, Ruth Hawkins, and brother, Leroy Huff. Gertrude is survived by her husband of 71 years, Orvil Sikes of Bonne Terre; daughter, Linda Mae (Mrs. Rick) Poston of Desloge; two grandsons, Richard (Emily) Poston of New Bloomfield, MO, and Charles Poston of Columbia, MO; two great-granddaughters, Clara Mae Poston and Alice Elizabeth Poston; sister, Betty White of OFallon, MO; sister-in-law, Larna Huff of Desloge. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Bonne Terre from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Poole officiating. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre.
