George Stanley

          George V. Stanley age 81, of Park Hills, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on Tuesday, September 26, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Oliver and Ruby (Huffman) Stanley. George worked as a security guard for the Federal Reserve and retired after 40 years of service. He loved playing Bingo. 

          He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of over 35 years Marion (Robinson) Stanley; siblings, Lois Barnham, Geraldine Vining, William, Richard and Ray Stanley.

          George is survived by five children, Christine Stanley, Michael Lowery, Terry Lowery and wife Mary Ann, Marlin Stanley, Tonya Stanley and husband Todd Ellis; father figure and grandpa to Derek Stanley,grandfather figure to Heather Ledbetter and Hailey Conour; grandchildren, Rachel Cordell and husband Cliff Skaggs, Danielle Renfrow, Kersey Norris and husband Greg, Alyssa Renfrow, Magen Renfrow, Pete Dugan, Michelle Diskey and Michael Lowery, Jr.; siblings, Wilma Roy and Eugene Stanley; adopted father figure to Debbie Peterson, Kathy Neahring and Donna Ledbetter.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  The visitation will resume, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 9:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM (Noon) with Tyrone Cox officiating. Interment will follow  2:30 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann.
