Mr. George Brian Boyd passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2013, at his Farmington residence at the age of 67 years, 5 months & 13 days. George was born on March 9, 1946, in St. Louis, MO., & was the son of Robert Madison Boyd & Glenda Josephine 'Belken' Boyd. Also preceding-in-death were a brother-in-law, Al Early and 2 nephews - Christopher Robert Jones & Christopher Douglas Jones.

George was an outstanding husband, excellent loving dad, grandpa and a great brother. George was a longtime, faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington. He was a member of Farmington ELKS Lodge #1765 BPOE, being highly involved in the 'Elks Hoop Shoot' and The Knights-of-Columbus. George delivered "Meals-on-Wheels" for the Farmington Senior Center. George was a standout basketball player at St. Joe Catholic High School and went onto play basketball at M.A.C, and then the University of Missouri-Columbia. George played basketball and graduated from McNeese State in Lake Charles, Louisiana. George began his career in education working at Farmington State Hospital for many years, then became Pincipal at St. Joseph Catholic School. George then became Chief Juvenille Officer at the 24th Judicial Circuit. George served as Commissioner and Umpire of the Farmington Municipal Leagues for years. George encouraged many students to pursue sports.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Jean 'Greco' Boyd, of Farmington. 1 daughter, Barbara Darlene (& John "Buddy") Davis, of Cape Girardeau. 2 sons: Brian (& Rikki) Boyd, of Farmington; Michael (& Natalie) Boyd, of Farmington. 2 sisters: Jane Early, of Cincinnati, OH; Mary (& Doug) Jones, of Irondale. 3 brothers: Robert (& Gray) Boyd, of St. Louis; Charlie (& Rita) Boyd, of Farmington; Michael (& Sidney) Boyd, of Imperial. 6 grandchildren: Danielle (& Sami) Belmabkhout, of Orlando, FL; J.R. Davis & Natalie Davis, of Cape Girardeau; Luke & Zack Boyd, of Farmington; and Ally Boyd, of Farmington. Also surviving are numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Visitation : Monday, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Visitation Resumes : Tuesday, 6:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Funeral Mass : Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., Aug. 27, 2013,

at : St. Joseph Catholic Church, Farmington, with Fr. Rickey Valleroy officiating, assisted by Deacon Mike Burch.

Interment : New Calvary Parish Cemetery - Farmington
