George Bennett

            George Bennett, 80, of Desloge, passed away January 16, 2017 at Pacific Care Center, surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1936 in Leadwood, to the late, Harry and Ruby (Stotler) Bennett. George was a member of the United Methodist Church of Desloge, and a 50 year member of the Carpenters and Mill Right Union.

             He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Linda Turnbaugh. 

            George is survived by his loving wife Brenda (Laws) Bennett; three daughters, Debbie (Dillard) Detring and special friend Mike Christopher of Gumbo, Jennifer (Mrs. Joe) Rhodus of Park Hills, and Elaine (Mrs. Jeff) George of Eureka; four grandchildren, Jacob, Jeffrey, Christian, and Catherine; one sister, Mimi (Mrs. Bob) Bray of St. Peters; and several adored nieces and nephews. 

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, January, 20, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. John Swatosh officiating. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be directed to The Desloge United Methodist Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
