Geneva Louise Barker

Geneva Barker, 91, of Park Hills passed away September 2, 2014 at Country Meadows Nursing Center in Park Hills. She was born July 11, 1923, in Mine La Motte, to the late Christopher Columbus and Alma Victoria (Matthews) Pirtle. She is a member of Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Sharon (Barker) Graham; and two sisters, Marguerite Horton and Ruth Pipkin. Geneva is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Rev. James Barker; son Rev. Richard Barker and wife Martha of Farmington; three grandchildren, Doug (Jeanie) Graham, Becky Worley, and Laura Horton; ten great-grandchildren, Bayley, Ethan, McKinley, Kiley, Ely, Daniel, Sarai, Michael, Austin, and Marcus. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, September 5, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the chapel, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Larry Allison and Rev. Herb McMillian officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be directed to Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church or Walker Johns Childhood Cancer Foundation.
