Gene P. Murdock

Gene Murdock, 78 of Bonne Terre, passed away Thursday, March 08, 2012 at St. Anthonys deGreeff Hospice House.He was born October 4, 1933 in St. Louis.Gene served his country in The United States Army and later worked for the St. Louis Public Schools System.First, he was a High School Football and Track Coach for over 20 years, at the Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, while he worked as their Industrial Arts Teacher.Gene later moved into Administration and served as a Principal in St. Louis Public Schools for over 20 years.He loved to farm and he was a published Author, as well as a local history buff.Gene was also a member of the Sons of Union Veterans Organization. He is preceded in death by parents, Paul M. and Juanita (Hester) Murdock and son, Michael Murdock. Gene is survived by wife, Elaine (Brewe) Murdock; children, Linda Herndon of DeSoto, Pamela Wiles of Bonne Terre, and Patrick (Leila) Murdock of Bonne Terre; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Cindy) Murdock also of Bonne Terre. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.Service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:30 AM., with Rev.
