Mr. Eugene C. "Gene" Pogue was "Promoted to Glory" at 7:25 pm on May 27, 2003, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR., at the age of 86 years, 6 months & 26 days. Gene was born on Oct. 31, 1916, in Madison Co., MO., & was the son of the late Felix Jasper Pogue & Laura May 'Sikes' Pogue. Also preceding in death were: 1 Daughter, Patty Jean Hampton (March 26, 2000); & 1 Brother, Roy David Pogue, during World War II. Gene was: * a member of Farmington First Baptist Church; * 50+ Year member of Doe Run/Pendleton Masonic Lodge #551; * US Merchant Marines Veteran. Gene enjoyed his many friends & the great outdoors: fishing, hunting & raising a garden. Gene & Larna celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniv. Christmas Eve 2002. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His WIFE of 66 Years: Larna L. 'Hicks' Pogue; 1 SON: Jerry G. (& Mary D. Schramm) Pogue, of Hot Springs, AR; 6 SISTERS: Nora Verna Mae 'Mrs. Eugene' Whiteaker, of Festus; Emma Rosabel 'Mrs. Hugh' Kitchen, of Merritt Island, FL; Margie Dimple 'Mrs. Richard' Lewis, of Sanford, FL; Thelma Virginia 'Mrs. Jack' Aslinger, of Farmington; Nina Ruth 'Mrs. Robert' Sigman, of Ormond Beach, FL; Goldie Viola 'Mrs. James' Koen, of Farmington; 1 Sister-In-Law: Mrs. Gladys Myers, of Fredericktown. 5 GRANDCHILDREN: Brian K. Pogue; Jeanna L. Hennrich & Eric L. "Ric" Hampton, all of Farmington; Bradley D. Pogue, of Sulphur, LA; Stephanie D. Graves, of Hot Springs, AR; 13 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Spencer C. Pogue; Seth A. Hennrich; Levi T. Hennrich; Kathleen G. Hennrich; Jordan L. Hampton; Abigail S. Hampton & Tyler E. Hampton, all of Farmington. Devon C. & Emily B. Graves, both of Hot Springs, AR; Ivy E., Taylor J., Whitney S., & Evan D. Pogue, all of Sulphur, LA. Visitation Friday, 5-9 p.m., resuming Saturday at 7:00 a.m. & funeral Sat - 11 am - May 31, 2003, at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Dr. William C. Miller officiating. Burial following at Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington. A Masonic Service will be held during visitation Fri. evening. Memorials to: Farmington 1st Baptist Church.
